I hope you are navigating your way through this difficult time with ease and grace and being kind to yourself and others.

I know times like these can be incredibly challenging with so much uncertainty. However I wanted to send you a reminder that this time will pass, and hopefully we will have all learned some more valuable lessons about ourselves, and have used this time to reflect and recharge as we slow down.

It is totally normal to feel as though you may have taken a few steps backwards and perhaps are back in old thought patterns or behaviours that you thought you had let go of. Don’t beat yourself up about that. Be kind and compassionate to yourself, it is ok to feel the feelings. When you allow yourself to feel, you process and can move forward. Remember you do have the tools you need to work through anything that comes your way.

A few reminders to keep yourself on the right track

  1. Do your square breathing exercises… to recap, breathe in for 4 long counts, hold for 4 long counts, breathe out for long counts, and hold for 4 long counts. Repeat 8-10 times. You can do this exercise 3-5 times per day.
  2. Be aware of your thoughts. Recognise any negative spiralling looping thoughts that may be present. You have the power to choose your thoughts, so decide consciously you are going to choose powerful, positive, empowering thoughts that DO serve you and are in line with what you DO want … not what you do not want.
  3. Ensure you maintain a structured daily routine. Exercise well, eat well, sleep well, and don’t drink too much alcohol.
  4. Practice gratitude everyday. Be grateful for what you do have, even the small things.
  5. Be Kind to YOURSELF…  and remember the importance of actually slowly down… and BEING.
